Steve Orwig, M.D., worked at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center for more than 30 years until he retired in 2013. While at the VAMC, he served as Associate Chief of Staff for Education, he was a founding member of the Medical Center’s Ethics Committee, and he helped create the VA’s Palliative Care Service. In 2013, he helped create the Supportive Care Clinic at the Stephenson Cancer Center; he worked in that clinic until December 2021. He continues to work intermittently on a contract basis in the VA Palliative Care Unit as well as teach in the College of Medicine.

Day 2 Break Out Session 1 Dr. Steve Orwig 02:30-03:30
Ryan graduated from the University Of Oklahoma College Of Pharmacy in 2012. While in Pharmacy School he discovered a passion for geriatric population and did several rotations that focused on this patient population in particular. One of these rotations was at Comfort Care Pharmacy where he began to learn about the specific needs of the hospice population. He came back and joined Comfort Care in July of 2014, and took over as Pharmacist in Charge in October of 2015. He was awarded the Distinguished Young Pharmacist for the State of Oklahoma in 2016, as well as being appointed to serve on the Executive Council for the Oklahoma Pharmacy Association in 2019. Ryan was elected to serve as the Vice-President of the Oklahoma Pharmacy Association in 2020, as well as currently serving on the board of the Oklahoma Hospice and Palliative Care Association.
